Integrating Slack

Capabilities​

Cyera's Slack integration provides the following capabilities:

Before You Start​

To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:

  • Slack Account: Enterprise Grid
  • Slack User Role: Admin

Determine Slack Plan Type​

  1. Sign in to your Slack workspace through the browser.
  2. Select About This Workspace in the left panel of the Slack dashboard.
  3. Take note of Plan type. You should either see Standard (Workspace App) or Enterprise Grid.

Connect to Cyera​

  1. In Cyera, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for Slack.
  2. Under App environment, enter your Slack Plan Type.
  3. Select Login to Configure.
  4. Log in to Slack if prompted and authorize the necessary permissions to Cyera:
Required OAuth Scopes
  • channels:history
  • channels:read
  • search:read
  • team:read
  • users:read
  • users:read.email

Troubleshooting​

If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:

Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources

Cyera checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.

Review Required Account Types and User Roles

If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to Cyera will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.
